A San Francisco nonprofit is celebrating a major milestone after delivering its 30 millionth meal to someone in need.

Project Open Hand marked the occasion Monday by delivering its 30 millionth meal to client Nicholas Galarza, with Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi making the special delivery.

Galarza, who is living with HIV, became a client during the pandemic. He receives weekly deliveries of meals and groceries, which he said helped him recover after losing his job and facing homelessness.
