Former doctor Ronald L. Fischer, a convicted rapist who went on the run, hiding in L.A. since March when he was hired by a biopharma firm on Olympic Blvd. as Dr. Richard Graydon
Disgraced former doctor Ronald Fischer, 70, a convicted rapist and one-time anesthesiologist who spent decades on the run, most recently while working in Los Angeles as a biopharma executive, was back at Newport Superior Courthouse Monday morning.
In 2005, Fischer fled his ongoing rape trial in that same courthouse connected to charges he attacked a mother of four during a first date on his yacht The Lion King docked near the tony New England town known for its sprawling seaside mansions.
Fischer, who was most recently living and working in L.A. as Dr. Richard Graydon, used a variety of aliases over the 21 years he spent on the run. He jumped in April 2005 in the minutes after when sent an email to his then-attorney writing that “he was fleeing the country,” according to an affidavit written by a U.S. Marshal’s deputy. Fischer went on to say he planned to “enjoy life in another country where he had long been carefully planning a good, safe, secure, and comfortable life.” Federal investigators recovered books on how to disappear at his upscale home after he fled.
It’s unclear where Fischer went next, but it was shortly after he was hired by Immix Biopharma using an alias, Dr. Richard Graydon, in March that U.S. Marshals and Rhode Island investigators were tipped off. The fugitive former doctor who had been described as a “master yachtsman” was sailing on a 56-foot sailboat, The Silver Lining.

Investigators began tailing the vessel, and with the help of the U.S. Coast Guard, captured Fischer on July 16 as he commandeered The Silver Lining off the coast of New Jersey. Fingerprints confirmed Graydon was, in fact, their wanted man, the ex-doctor.
He was brought into court by a phalanx of law enforcement officers on Monday. He was convicted after he jumped bail of first-degree sexual assault, a charge that could send him to prison for life, and is now facing a separate felony connected to his life on the lam.

There is also a pending federal case against Fischer on a charge of unlawful flight to avoid prosecution, as law enforcement believes he crossed state lines in his escape. He had been working as the Chief Medical Officer for Immix Biopharma at 11400 W. Olympic Avenue in Sawtelle since March. Fischer, who lost his medical license both in Massachusetts, where he was found guilty in 1996 of a sexual assault on his boat in Quincy, and in Rhode Island, managed to fake an extensive background managing major oncology drug approvals as a way to land jobs at massive companies like Merck and Johnson & Johnson.
Last week, after news that their CMO had been locked up, the company submitted a Form 8-K to the Securities and Exchange Commission confessing to the firm’s hiring of a sham doctor for its board. On the form, Immix noted, “Richard Graydon has been terminated and is no longer with the Company for reasons unrelated to his activities at the company.”
Multiple white-shoe law firms have announced investigations on shareholders’ behalf connected to Immix Biopharma’s background-check and hiring practices.
