A driver hit a tree and rolled over just east of downtown Fresno on Monday afternoon.
Fresno police spokesperson Sgt. Diana Trueba Vega said a rollover crash was reported near Ventura Avenue and Fifth Street around 2:30 p.m.
Trueba Vega said an 83-year-old man was driving east on Ventura at about 35 mph when he felt fatigued. The driver ultimately veered off the road toward the center median before crashing into a tree, causing the car to flip.
The driver complained of pain and was taken to a hospital. Alcohol and drugs were not factors in the crash, Trueba Vega said.
Officers briefly blocked off a portion of Ventura Avenue near the crash.
