BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A wildfire burning east of Bakersfield has burned approximately 950 acres so far, fire officials said.
The fire was reported at around 12:44 p.m. in the area northeast of Bena and Caliente Bodfish roads. Cal Fire said Monday afternoon critical railways are under threat, and the fire was running upslope. Access for firefighters is limited by steep terrain and few access points to the area.
Evacuation warnings have been issued for the KRN-100 and KRN-455 zones. You can see the evacuation warning zones on this map from Genasys Protect.
Multiple fire crews have been called to help extinguish the fire including firefighting aircraft.
The fire was at 0% containment.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
