A fire that broke out Saturday afternoon damaged three structures and disrupted power and internet service for thousands of residents in South Pasadena and neighboring San Marino.

According to the South Pasadena Fire Department, firefighters were dispatched at approximately 2:40 pm Saturday, July 25, 2026, after reports of smoke coming from a property in the 1100 block of Glendon Way.
Fire crews, assisted by the Pasadena, Alhambra, and San Marino fire departments, arrived to find a fire burning in a rear studio on the property. The blaze spread to two additional structures on Meridian Avenue before firefighters were able to contain it.
Crews prevented the fire from spreading farther, and the incident was brought under control at approximately 3:20 p.m.
Officials said two of the affected structures sustained major damage, while a third sustained minor damage.
The fire also damaged several power lines, causing a localized outage, and severed a main internet fiber line, resulting in an internet outage that affected several thousand residences in South Pasadena and San Marino.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire has not been released.
