An investigation is underway after apparent human remains were found near the Oakland County Circuit Court building in Pontiac on Tuesday morning, officials said.
According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, the remains appear to be that of an adult male in an advanced state of decomposition which were found in a wooden area south of the courthouse. A patient identification bracelet was recovered from the scene and detectives are working to determine the medical facility that issued it, the sheriff’s office said.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene shortly after 10 a.m.
