Just when we need a full-scale cool-down due to temperatures delivering a wicked wallop, along comes National Waterpark Day to provide some damp relief.
The date of this splashy celebration is July 28, and Knott’s Soak City Waterpark is honoring the swimsuit-clad holiday with big news: A pair of major attractions will slide into the Buena Park destination in 2027.
So start to slather on the SPF lotion and prepare to queue up for Kelp Craze and Coral Craze, two slide attractions set to debut in 2027.
Kelp Craze is an “… immersive five-person, family raft ride,” a move-quickly thrill that “… will send riders twisting through a revolutionary series of tight turns and spiraling helix elements designed to create the feeling that the slide itself is revolving around them,” shares the park.
This particular style of ride will enjoy its North American debut, shared the Soak City team.
Coral Craze boasts the vibes of a “world-class ski course,” which was “… inspired by the manufacturer’s skiing heritage.” A FlyingSAUCER, which can accommodate up to five riders, is at the center of the aquatic action, giving families the energy-raising opportunity to take on “sweeping, gravity-defying maneuvers” along the banked turns.
Another debut is in the works with this ride: This will be the West Coast’s “first triple Family FlyingSAUCER attraction,” the park team stated.
Both attractions will be rise where the Shore Break slide complex is now located.
“Coral Craze and Kelp Kraze represent the next wave of innovation for Knott’s Soak City,” said Raffi Kaprelyan, park president of Knott’s Berry Farm.
“These exciting new attractions combine the thrills the guests crave with the shared experiences families love.”
“We are thrilled to celebrate National Waterpark Day by announcing two of the industry’s most innovative slide experiences are headed to Soak City, giving guests new ways to ride, splash and make memories together.”
