(FOX40.COM) — A second man was arrested Tuesday afternoon in connection with the stabbing of five people in Old Sacramento, the Sacramento Police Department said.
Officers responded to reports of an assault with a weapon just after 3 a.m. on Saturday in the area of Front Street and K Street, and arrived to find three male victims with stab wounds. Two victims from the same incident were already at a hospital when police arrived.
Officers initially detained three people in connection with the stabbing. Sacramento police arrested 18-year-old Ezekiel Griffis, of Sacramento, on Saturday in connection with the stabbing incident.
On Tuesday, police also arrested 19-year-old Robert Richwine, of Rancho Cordova, and booked him into the Sacramento County Main Jail, Sacramento police said. He was charged with assault with a deadly weapon or instrument, according to jail records.
Both Griffis and Richwine were part of the original three detained as persons of interest.
Richwine’s next court date is set for 8:30 a.m. on November 3.
The investigation remains ongoing.
