From community events and public meetings to major City investments and new services, there’s always something happening across Sacramento.
At today’s City Council meeting, City Manager Maraskeshia Smith is highlighting several upcoming events, City initiatives and community opportunities.
“Keeping our community informed is an important part of how we serve Sacramento,” Smith said. “These updates are an opportunity to share upcoming events, recognize the work of our employees and connect residents with City programs, services and opportunities to get involved.”

National Night Out is Aug. 4
Sacramento neighborhoods will once again come together for National Night Out on Tuesday, Aug. 4, an annual event that strengthens relationships between neighbors, law enforcement and first responders. A complete list of participating neighborhood events will be available on the Police Department’s website.
City secures $31.9 million for senior housing
The City recently secured nearly $31.9 million in State Homekey+ funding for the Rio Linda Senior Housing Project, which will provide permanent supportive housing for seniors experiencing homelessness. The City recognizes staff, including Ya Yin Aisle and Brian Pedro, along with development partner Urban Capital, for securing the competitive state funding.
