A 61-year-old woman was injured Wednesday night when she was struck by a car driven by a 17-year-old boy in Rancho Bernardo.

The crash was reported at 7:08 p.m. Wednesday at 12300 Calle Saucillo, near Rancho Bernardo High School, according to San Diego Police Department Officer Jose Perales.

The woman was crossing Calle Saucillo in an unmarked crosswalk when she was struck by the westbound Chevrolet Malibu, Perales said.

The woman suffered an open elbow fracture and a spinal fracture, which were not considered life-threatening, he said.

Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, Perales said.
