BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Drivers who use northbound Highway 99 should plan for an overnight closure starting tonight, July 30, as crews work to install new bridge signs and complete striping, said the City of Bakersfield.
A nighttime full closure of northbound Highway 99 is scheduled to begin at 11 p.m. and remain in effect until 5 a.m. Crews will be mounting new bridge signs, and permanent striping work will also take place in the area.
During the closure, drivers will be detoured to Ming Avenue: right (west) on Ming Avenue, right (north) on Wible Road, continue north along Wible Road/Oak Street to California Avenue, then turn left (west) on California Avenue before entering the northbound Highway 99 on-ramp.
Construction work may be postponed and rescheduled without notice due to inclement weather and other unforeseen conditions.
