More showings of “The Odyssey,” Christopher Nolan’s adaptation of the famous Greek poem, have been added to IMAX theaters, including in Sacramento.

Esquire IMAX has added 56 additional dates to their website for The Odyssey with 3-4 showings each day.

The film premiered on July 17 and was originally planned to be shown in theaters for a limited summer window, but due to advance sell outs, showings have been extended through mid-September.

These extended showings are only for IMAX 70mm. Many standard digital theaters are unable to show the film in 70mm.

There are only 26 theaters in the U.S. that can showcase “The Odyssey” in IMAX 70mm. California houses eight of them, and Esquire IMAX is the only theater in Sacramento that can showcase “The Odyssey” in 70mm.

Tickets are still available for various showings and can be found here.
