Governor Gavin Newsom recently announced the appointment of Lianne Dumas, a Yucaipa native, to serve as a judge in the San Francisco County Superior Court.

Dumas, who currently resides in San Mateo County, has built an accomplished legal career dedicated to public service and justice. She has served as a Deputy City Attorney at the San Francisco City Attorney’s Office since 2019, where she has handled a wide range of complex legal matters on behalf of the city and County of San Francisco. Prior to that, she worked as an Attorney at the Judicial Council of California and owned and operated her own firm, LMD Legal Aid, from 2012 to 2019, providing critical legal services to individuals and families in need.

Dumas earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of San Francisco School of Law. She is also a proud graduate of Yucaipa High School – Class of 2000 and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a minor in American Studies from California State University Fullerton, where she was a President’s Scholar.

Dumas fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Curtis E.A. Karnow. Dumas is the daughter of the late Donna Eurich, who was well-known and respected in the Yucaipa community.
