The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries after a fight escalated Thursday night.

LONG BEACH, CA — A man was hospitalized after being stabbed during an altercation in Long Beach on Thursday night, police said.

Officers responded at about 8:52 p.m. to the 500 block of West 7th Street, where they found an adult man suffering from stab wounds to his upper and lower body.

The victim was taken to a local hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

Preliminary findings indicate the victim became involved in a physical altercation with a group of men before one of them allegedly stabbed him. The investigation is ongoing and information regarding the suspect was not immediately available.

In addition, police are also investigating a fatal shooting that left a man dead early Friday in the city’s Willmore neighborhood.
