CALIFORNIA (FOX26) — A jet ski operator was arrested for Boating Under the Influence (BUI) during a multi-agency enforcement operation on the Sacramento River.

The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office says deputies with the Special Vehicles Operations Unit participated in the July 25 operation targeting impaired boaters.

One jet ski operator was arrested after showing signs of impairment and registering a 0.125% blood alcohol concentration.

The individual was booked into the Yolo County Jail on suspicion of boating under the influence.

Officials are reminding the public that operating a boat while impaired can lead to serious crashes, falls overboard, and drownings.

They encourage boaters to designate a sober operator and always wear a life jacket.
