BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Kern County coroner’s office has identified the man who died in a residential fire in April.
Officials identified the man as 28-year-old Roy Anthony Pryor, of Maricopa.
A spokesperson with the Kern County Sheriff’s Office said Pryor’s death is considered suspicious.
The Kern County Fire Department will be investigating the fire, but KCSO will investigate the death, the spokesperson said.
Emergency personnel were called to a home on the 800 block of Madera Street in Maricopa on April 4, where they found Pryor deceased in the house around 6:10 p.m., law enforcement said.
A postmortem examination was conducted and his cause of death was determined to be due to thermal burns and smoke inhalation. The coroner’s office said the manner of his death was undetermined.
