Vehicle fire ignites brush along southbound I-5

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A vehicle caught fire this morning on southbound I-5.

Caltrans cameras show a pickup truck with a trailer caught fire and has caused a brush fire to ignite.

The fire was first reported at 7:51 a.m. and has been named the Buzzard Fire.

The CHP incident page says the number 4 southbound lane on I-5 have been closed.

According to Kern County Sheriff’s office, an evacuation warning is in place for zone KRN-535.
