BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Don Clark, a longtime news anchor at KBAK who became one of Kern County’s most recognizable and trusted television journalists, has died at 85 years old.
Clark anchored the news at KBAK from 1987 to 2004, spending 17 years informing viewers across Kern County.
During his time on the anchor desk, he earned a reputation for his warm personality, credibility and genuine connection with the community.
Known for his down-to-earth delivery and positive approach to storytelling, Clark became a familiar presence in local living rooms.
Many viewers regarded him as one of the most trusted voices in local news, often drawing comparisons to legendary broadcaster Walter Cronkite because of the confidence he inspired.
