Sacramento Regional Transit will adjust six bus routes beginning Sunday, including delaying departure times and eliminating one early-morning trip from Florin.
The transit agency periodically adjusts its schedule to improve reliability, enhance connections and respond to rider feedback, RT spokesperson Jessica Gonzalez said. The weekday schedules for bus routes 10, 61, 81, 82, 87 and 228 will change.
Here is how the routes will differ:
Route 10: The trip departing from Iron Point station at 7:08 a.m. will add a stop at American River Canyon, which is currently served by only three of the route’s 14 daily northbound trips. The new stop, where the bus will arrive at 8:03 a.m., will delay the bus’s arrival at Historic Folsom Station by 10 minutes to 8:16 a.m.
Route 61: Travel times will increase by two minutes for trips ending at Pocket Transit Center, and trips ending at Florin Towne Centre will take an additional 10 minutes.
Route 81: The westbound trip leaving Florin Towne Centre at 7:41 a.m. will be discontinued because of low ridership, according to RT. The trip operates only on school days and is removed from online schedules during the summer.
Route 82: The trips departing University-65th Street Station at 6:13 a.m. and 6:43 a.m. will leave six minutes later to improve connections at the station. All other arrival times will be adjusted accordingly.
Route 87: The first three trips departing University-65th Street Station will depart six minutes later, at 6:04, 6:34 and 7:04 a.m. All other stops on those trips will also be adjusted accordingly.
Route 228: A new stop will be added on Karbet Way near Seamas Avenue to serve Sam Brannan Middle School students traveling to and from the school in South Land Park.
