(KRON) — A woman has died weeks after being struck by a car in San Jose, authorities announced Wednesday.
The collision occurred on July 18 around 10:25 p.m. in the area of North Leigh Avenue and Patio Drive. San Jose Police Department investigators said a man driving a silver 2016 Toyota Camry northbound on Leigh was approaching the intersection with Patio when he struck a woman who was walking in the roadway. The woman was outside of any marked crosswalks, according to police.

The woman suffered major injuries and was rushed to the hospital. She was later stabilized, police said. On Aug. 2, the woman succumbed to her injuries sustained in the crash.
The Santa Clara County Office of the Medical Examiner said Wednesday that the woman’s identity is not releasable at this time.
The driver remained at the scene of the crash to cooperate with the investigation.
