A woman riding a scooter was struck and killed in a crash on Market Street on Friday, according to witnesses and authorities.
A San Francisco Fire Department spokesperson described it as “a high velocity vehicle crash,” saying the department responded to a call at 8:18 a.m. involving a pedestrian who had been hit near Market and Powell street. A scooter was found near the victim’s body.
A helmet rested on the street upside down with a police evidence marker near the victim.
The Police Department said that the driver was located and is cooperating with the investigation.
