A small earthquake rolled through Trinity County on Saturday, a temblor that a few people reported they felt.

The quake’s magnitude was 3.4, the U.S. Geological Survey reported. The quake was reported around 8:33 a.m. on Saturday, according to the USGS report.

The quake was located in the southern section of Trinity County near its border with Mendocino County. The Shasta-Trinity National Forest is in the vicinity.

Zenia and Island Mountain in Trinity County and Covelo in Mendocino County are the communities nearest the quake’s epicenter, Google Maps shows.

According to the USGS, the quake was about 19 miles northwest of Covelo. Its reported depth was about five miles.

The quake resulted in no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
