RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – The final night of Hot August Nights on Saturday, Aug. 8, celebrated classic automobile culture and enduring family heritage.
In keeping with a tradition established by former longtime colleague Ed Pearce, KOLO 8 News Now’s weekend anchor/reporter Ben Deach chose a 1952 Chevrolet Styleline Deluxe for the KOLO ribbon presented by Bonanza Casino.
Wwner Jose Carmona of Sacramento said his passion for cars started in his childhood.
“I built my first car with my uncle when I was in junior high school and we took that to my junior high graduation,” Carmona said. “He was the first Mexican in Sacramento to actually install hydraulics in the 70s.”
