SNAPPED! Oakland halts the Red Sox’s win streak at 9

The Red Sox 9-game winning streak ended on Saturday with a 7-3 loss to the Athletics.

Boston got out to an early 2-0 lead in the first inning, but did not score again until the ninth.

Still, this marks the second time in less than a month that the Red Sox have won nine consecutive games. They went on a 15-game win streak in July.

The Red Sox have never had multiple winning streaks of 10+ games in a single season.

Boston entered the Saturday game 27-3 in their last 30 games, the best 30-game span in franchise history.

The Sox are the 10th team since 1900 with 27+ wins in any 30-game span, and just the third to do so since 1954.

The Red Sox and Athletics season finale is Sunday at 1:35 p.m.
