Officers responded to a report of shots fired at 7:50 a.m. Saturday in the 11800 block of Downey Avenue, at De Palma Street, a couple of blocks west of Lakewood Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Homicide detectives were assisting in the shooting investigation.
Arriving officers found a man with a gunshot wound and later located a woman who was also shot, the LASD stated. Both were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities were not immediately released.
