3 men face federal charges in cross-country drug-trafficking conspiracy

Three men face federal charges in connection with a drug conspiracy that spanned from California to Maryland, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for Maryland announced Monday.
Samir Footman, 38, of Halethorpe; Kenny Guyton, 44, of Glen Burnie; and Marcus McDaniel, 45, of Stockton, California, are charged with conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute controlled substances, federal prosecutors said. Footman also faces a gun charge in connection with the sale of a firearm.
Prosecutors said the men had almost 6 kilograms of pure crystal methamphetamine and about 10 kilograms of methamphetamine pills.
“Law enforcement collaboration is a powerful tool that we leverage to keep Marylanders safe. This indictment showcases our commitment to teaming with our partners to relentlessly pursue justice against individuals who fuel criminal activity in our communities,” Kelly O. Hayes, U.S. attorney for Maryland, said in a statement. “No matter where you are, if you’re involved in trafficking drugs and/or firearms in Maryland, we will find and prosecute you.”
Agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives started investigating Footman, a suspected drug dealer in Annapolis, in September 2025, which led to the identification of Guyton as Footman’s supplier, prosecutors said, citing court documents.
“Footman and his associates flooded our streets with dangerous drugs and firearms, and ATF will work tirelessly to hold him accountable,” ATF Baltimore Special-Agent-in-Charge Charles Doerrer said in a statement.
Authorities searched the houses of Footman and Guyton in April and seized a gun, ammunition, a pill press and about 2.7 kilograms of additional methamphetamine pills, prosecutors said.
According to investigators, Guyton’s cellphone contained messages between Guyton and a contact saved as “Blindman.” Investigators said a U.S. Postal Service tracking number in the phone was connected to a shipment of about 5.3 kilograms of pure methamphetamine sent from a California-based location.
Prosecutors said investigators also have video showing McDaniel buying the shipping materials.
Investigators said another USPS tracking number found in Guyton’s phone was linked to “Blindman,” and that agents found a second package containing a cashier’s check for $6,700 payable from Guyton to McDaniel in exchange for the crystal methamphetamine shipment.
