A pursuit that started in the high desert of San Bernardino County continued for about two hours Tuesday afternoon on streets and freeways east of Los Angeles before the driver pulled over in Ontario.
The chase involving a blue Nissan SUV began after the driver left a traffic stop about 80 miles northeast of Los Angeles in the San Bernardino County community of Victorville.
Authorities said the driver was sought in connection with a no-bail warrant. Details about the warrant were not immediately available.
The SUV was traveling east in San Bernardino County before circling back on the 10 Freeway toward Los Angeles.
The driver exited onto streets in the West Covina area with several patrol SUVs in pursuit. A passenger fell or jumped out of the SUV on Valinda Avenue.
The pursuit continued east on the 60 Freeway through the San Gabriel Valley and into Ontario, where the driver stopped on the side of an exit ramp and surrendered to authorities near Vineyard Avenue.
Lanes were briefly closed as the driver was taken into custody.
