BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The man killed Monday morning after being struck by multiple vehicles on the 24th Street bridge was identified as 48-year-old Antoine Cobbins of Bakersfield.
The Kern County coroner said that Cobbins was found dead at the scene on August 10, 2026, at approximately 5:35 a.m. by Bakersfield police.

Officers were called early Monday to the 24th Street bridge over the Kern River regarding a report of a pedestrian down in the road.
Cobbins was found after he had been struck by multiple vehicles, said officials. Police said several drivers left the scene without stopping.

The road was closed until 9 a.m., delaying drivers.
