It will be a day of great food, live music, motorcycles, and blue-collar fun at the second annual Cowboys & Chrome, coming up this weekend at the Kinetic Exhibition Park.
Fun & food for the family
Although the Swift Current Ag & Ex announced last week that the bronc riding would be cancelled, the rest of the events on Saturday will continue as planned.
Rebecca Anderson, executive director of the Swift Current Ag & Ex, said attendees can enjoy a variety of food trucks in the parking lot from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.
“We’re excited about the lineup this year,” she said. “The Tea House will be open, the Living Sky Eats and Treats booth will be open, Lemon Heaven is always a big one during Frontier Days, and they’re here for Cowboys & Chrome as well, and we’ll have a local favourite, Siddhu’s Rolling Kitchen.
“We also have a couple of new ones, like beaver tails, which are always popular.” Food vendors will also feature Filipino street food, potatoes, and Mexican food.
Folks will have a chance to win prizes during bingo in the Airmen’s Billet at 2 p.m., and Doc’s Town Heritage Village will be open for touring from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

A Motorcycle Show & Shine will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., and those interested can pre-register for the show online.
“We’re partnering with Ride for Dad, so they’re going to be out,” she said. “We’re excited to see all the motorcycles that’ll be showing up.”
The evening will wrap up with a cabaret featuring music from a local band in the Palliser Pavilion beginning at 8 p.m.
“We’ve got Bakersfield coming to perform,” Anderson added. “Tickets are $15 in advance, and if you wait until Saturday, it’s $20, so you can save yourself enough for a drink ticket if you get your tickets in advance.
