EL CERRITO — The El Cerrito Plaza BART station was closed Monday afternoon after officials said a deceased passenger was found on the concourse level.
No other information was immediately released about the person. Officials did say there were no initial indications of foul play.
The person was found deceased about 12:36 p.m. Monday.
The station was shut down until about 2:10 p.m. while police investigated and waited for the coroner’s bureau to respond. Normal service resumed when the station reopened.
During the shutdown, BART said trains were not stopping at the station but that Red and Orange Line Service had not otherwise been impacted.
AC Transit was providing bus service between the El Cerrito Plaza and Del Norte Stations while the station was closed.
