Military officials have identified a U.S. Marine recruit who died after a training exercise earlier this month at Camp Pendleton.
Pvt. Aiden Craig, 18, suffered a “medical emergency” during a physical fitness test on the Marine base on Aug. 1, Marine Corps officials said.
He was taken to Tri-City Medical Center in Oceanside, where he died four days later.
Craig was assigned to Alpha Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego and was on his 47th day of training at the time of the incident, officials said.
Craig’s death is still under investigation, and further details were not immediately available.
