You don’t need a plane ticket to experience a taste of Italy this summer!
On Saturday, August 15 from 1 to 6 p.m., Helms Avenue will transform into an Italian-inspired piazza. The celebration will honor Ferragosto, one of Italy’s most beloved summer holidays.
Guests can enjoy live music, Italian food and drinks, family activities, artisan demonstrations, and more. The celebration is being hosted by Helms with friends at Pasta Sisters.
What to expect at Ferragosto at Helms
There will be plenty to see and do throughout the afternoon. Live music and a DJ will keep things lively. Italian food and drink vendors will also line Helms Avenue.
If you want to learn how to make pasta, Pasta Sisters will host tortellino-rolling lessons. Guests can learn how to make the classic Italian stuffed pasta.
Orto Farms will showcase heirloom Italian produce. Sogno Toscano will offer tastings of cheese, salumi, and olive oil. You can also grab a drink at the Father’s Office beer garden. Specialty cocktails will be available as well.
Family-friendly fun
The celebration will have plenty for kids and families. Fondazione Italia will host crafts, story time, and dance-alongs. These activities are designed to introduce guests to Italian culture in a fun way.
There will also be an immersive multimedia installation from Studio Dream Factory.
Don’t forget the gelato
No Italian summer celebration would be complete without coffee and gelato!
Caffè Luxxe will bring its “espressSUV” pop-up espresso bar. Guests can stop by for an Italian-style caffeine fix. Dolcenero will also be serving gelato.
There’s an extra treat for new L.A. Material subscribers. The first 500 new subscribers will receive a complimentary scoop of Dolcenero gelato.
