BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Bakersfield Police Department is asking for the community’s help in identifying a suspect accused of theft during a Facebook Marketplace transaction at a southwest Bakersfield apartment on Friday.
On Aug. 7, the suspect reportedly contacted the victim via Facebook Marketplace and arranged to meet at the Glenbrook Apartments at 4840 Planz Road. He was looking to buy a gold chain.
During the exchange, the suspect fled on foot with the gold chain without paying for it, police said.

Officials described the suspect as a male individual in his late teens with a thin build. He was wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants and prescription glasses.
He is believed to live in the area between Planz Road and Apple Blossom Drive, BPD said.
