It is frustrating that one person at the head of the government can so adversely impact so many matters on such a broad scale, so negatively and contrary to the public interest and desires, with a staff of “yes” persons and his political party fixated on obedience rather than constituents being represented. Placating political supporters should not supersede elected leaders’ duties or ethical obligations.
But am I referencing the national level or the city of San Diego’s power centers? When if ever will our representatives represent us, and provide substantive comments and solutions? Don’t merely say public restrooms cost too much, but disclose how much they actually cost (and who calculated this and how) — especially compared to other options, e.g., temporary, self-contained portable restrooms.
