The pair will throw out the ceremonial first pitch on August 15th
The Angels are hosting Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley of Kiss on Saturday, August 15th, to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at Angel Stadium of Anaheim to commemorate the 50th anniversary of their performance at Anaheim Stadium on The Spirit of ‘76 Tour, as well as the release of their Kiss Destroys Anaheim ’76 box set on August 21st. The project marks the first time this historic show from Anaheim Stadium will be officially available to the public.
The night will also include Kiss-themed in-stadium entertainment, giveaways, a live band performing Kiss covers throughout the game, and a Kiss-themed fireworks show.
On August 20th, 1976, the band’s The Spirit of ’76 Tour (aka the Destroyer Tour) landed in Anaheim, CA, packing out the Anaheim Stadium with over 42,000 fans – the largest crowd to date for the band at that time. Originally recorded by Eddie Kramer on that KISStoric night, Eddie has newly mixed this concert from the original multi-track tapes.
Only Kiss Army members can access exclusive materials launched to celebrate the news. Members can access a first listen of freshly mixed soundbites, concert material and new insights directly from Gene and Paul, sharing their memories of the famed show.
The concert was a mini-festival of classic 70s rock, featuring an iconic opening lineup of Montrose, Bob Seger, and Ted Nugent.
The 60-plus-minute concert will be available on 1 CD, 2 LP black vinyl, and 2 LP color vinyl with a booklet featuring liner note highlights from the deluxe version, unreleased photos, and memorabilia imagery. The premium SHM-CD made in Japan (playable on all CD players) in a softpak case, along with a 60-page book filled with extensive liner notes by Ken Sharp, unreleased photos & memorabilia imagery – all showcased in a slipcase. A 2-LP picture disc version will also be bundled with a collectible coin and feature a 40-page book filled with extensive liner notes by Ken Sharp, unreleased photos & memorabilia imagery – all showcased in a slipcase.
