An early-morning altercation between an adult and two teenagers at a motel Thursday left all three subjects with lacerations, Fresno police said.
Officers responded to a stabbing call at the Vagabond Inn near Jensen Avenue and Highway 99 around 3:15 a.m., police said.
Responding offers found a 16-year-old boy with cuts to his forearm. The teen said he was trying to break up a fight and was injured while breaking a window to gain entry into a room.
Officers then found two more people with lacerations: a 26-year-old man cut near his right eye, and a 15-year-old boy with a two-inch cut to his forearm.
The adult, identified as Jeremiah Smith, didn’t provide a statement to police. Upon further investigation, officers learned the 26-year-old and 15-year-old began fighting on the second floor after an argument. The fight continued into a room.
The 15-year-old said the adult cut him with a piece of broken glass.
Smith was arrested and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. According to Fresno County Jail booking records, he was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and battery.
The 15-year-old was also taken to the hospital, though he left against medical advice and was released to a guardian, police said.
