FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — A weekend string of vehicle burglaries in Madera’s Riverstone area led to two arrests in Fresno, as investigators tracked stolen credit cards used to make purchases across county lines.
The Madera County Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Team, known as MADSET, investigated multiple vehicle burglaries reported over the past weekend in Riverstone, east of Madera near Highway 41.
Detectives learned stolen credit cards taken in the burglaries were later used to make purchases in Fresno.
MADSET detectives identified two suspects and, with help from the Fresno Police Department’s Adult Compliance Team, located and arrested both on Thursday morning in Fresno.
Police said a loaded stolen firearm was recovered during the arrests.

Authorities have not located property stolen during the Riverstone burglaries.
Both suspects are on Post-Release Community Supervision, and one of the suspects had also been arrested by MADSET earlier this year in connection with separate vehicle burglaries.
Both suspects were booked into the Madera County Jail.
