LOS ANGELES — Inside a 14-block stretch of Vermont Avenue, known as the El Salvador Corridor, one will find a variety of vendors and the traditional Salvadoran street food that makes the stretch feel like a little piece of home.
That’s what brings Andy to the area. He is from El Salvador, and he has Temporary Protected Status in the United States.
TPS for El Salvador is currently set to remain in place through Sept. 9.
But with that deadline just weeks away, the Department of Homeland Security has yet to announce whether it will extend the protections — or let them expire.
