The Sacramento Kings are opening a new team store in Downtown Commons, replacing a chain sports products store in the shopping district.

The Kings are revamping their fan merchandise store near the Golden 1 Center and will replace Lids, which had sold athletic apparel in DoCo since 2023. Lids closed in July, according to its Yelp page.

Lids partnered directly with the Kings and was previously known as Lids – Kings Locker Room.

The Kings Team Store will sell clothing, accessories, and other team merchandise inside the roughly 4,000 square foot space, according to a news release.

“Designed to make Kings merchandise more accessible than ever, the store will offer everything from classic team essentials to elevated lifestyle pieces that celebrate team pride,” the release said.

John Rinehart, president of business operations for the Sacramento Kings, said the store would also sell exclusive merchandise.

“Our fans continue to embrace the Kings as both a team and a lifestyle brand,” Rinehart said in the release. This new official team store gives them a retail experience that reflects who we are today.”

The store will hold its grand opening at the beginning of the 2026-2027 National Basketball Association regular season, which starts on October 20.
