Long Beach’s beach skyline was adorned with colorful kites this weekend as hundreds came together to enjoy the 13th annual Long Beach Kite Festival.
The beloved festival returned to Rosie’s Dog Beach on Sunday, Aug. 16, as people flew kites and enjoyed live music, food, family fun and more.
The event, organized by the Pacific Kite Club, was started by members of the Bangladeshi community in 2013 to preserve their traditional kite-flying heritage, organizers said. Over the past years, it has grown from a small gathering into an event attended by hundreds of people from all backgrounds and across Southern California.
Families, artists, and kite lovers enjoyed an afternoon of looking up at the display of kite craftsmanship.
