A woman suspected of stealing Pokémon cards and other items from the trunk of a Tesla in Orange County last month has been taken into custody, police said on Thursday.

The Irvine Police Department asked the public for help on Oct. 15 in identifying a woman who got away with over $400 worth of Pokémon cards and personal property taken from the car as it sat in the parking garage of an apartment building on Miramonte.

“A woman possibly associated with Team Rocket was caught on camera opening the trunk of a Tesla,” the police department posted on Instagram along with the video. “Help us catch this one before she disappears into the tall grass! … We ‘gotta catch ’em all’,” the post read.

In Thursday’s update, police reported that investigators later identified the suspect as 32-year-old Rosemary Arteaga Morfin of Anaheim and served a search warrant at her apartment, but she was not home at the time.

Police said that Morfin later refused an opportunity to turn herself in and shared their text exchange on Facebook.

“Okay Rosemary, I’ve only got a little time left today. This is your opportunity to do it the easiest way, that’s most convenient for you. This isn’t going away and after today it’s just going to be more inconvenient. The ball is in your court,” the message from police reads.

Morfin allegedly replied, “My attorney told me to hang tight,” to which the response was, “I will see you soon.”

Video of Wednesday’s arrest showed detectives approaching her car and shouting, “Rosemary, shut the car off.” She is then ordered to unlock the door and is seen being placed in handcuffs.

Morfin was booked on suspicion of burglary, vehicle burglary, vandalism and receiving stolen property, police said.
