BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A new Costco Warehouse may be coming to a marketplace planned in northwest Bakersfield, according to newly published city documents.
The project, named “7th Standard Marketplace” as of August, is being proposed at the southwest corner of 7th Standard Road and Calloway Drive.
The proposed development includes one major anchor store, fuel facility with a kiosk, retail store, retail and restaurant space, five restaurants — four of them with a drive-thru — automated car wash, a bank and about 1,369 parking spaces, according to the initial study.

The 184,478-square-foot major anchor store is being proposed by the developer as a Costco Wholesale Warehouse, the document read. There are currently two Costco Warehouses in Bakersfield — one at 3800 Rosedale Highway, and the other at 4900 Panama Lane.
The fuel facility is also said to be a members-only location.
Construction for the marketplace is scheduled to last for about 15 months beginning in the last quarter of 2027, ending in the third quarter of 2028, according to documents.
The city of Bakersfield posted a notice of preparation of an environmental impact report on Wednesday.
The city also announced a public scoping meeting at 1 p.m. Aug. 31 at 1715 Chester Ave., DVS 1 Large. Members of the public can provide comment during the 30-day public scoping period from Aug. 19 to Sept. 21, 2026, according to city spokesperson Joe Conroy.
