Authorities have identified the woman killed in Selma over the weekend, and they’ve made an arrest as well.

Fresno County Coroner’s Office spokesperson Tony Botti identified the victim as Mercedes Saldana, 32, of Selma.

The shooting happened near Cypress and Logan streets around 4:30 a.m., police said.

Saldana was shot during a residential disturbance. She was taken to Adventist Health hospital in Selma, where she died.

Later that same day, authorities arrested Nicholas Salazar, 48.

Saldana’s family is seeking support following the deadly shooting.

“Dear Family and Friends it is with a heavy heart that we are reaching out to you during this incredibly difficult time,” wrote Saldana’s family on a GoFundMe page that is raising funds.
