The death of a Pennsylvania Western University-California student is being considered suspicious after her body was found inside a car early Thursday morning in California Borough.
The coroner’s office and state police are investigating the death of Karoline Heintz, 18, of McMurray.
At 12:24 a.m. Thursday, California Borough police found Heintz inside a parked vehicle near the California Area Public Library, the coroner’s office said.
Heintz had been with family earlier in the day, and was to return to campus housing at PennWest, the coroner said.
Heintz’s family called 911 early Thursday morning after she did not check in at an agreed-upon time, the coroner said. Family members tracked her location to vehicle.
