BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A man was arrested Monday as part of a narcotics investigation on Panama Lane following months of complaints from the community, according to the Bakersfield Police Department.
On Aug. 17, BPD Impact Unit officers arrested Jesus Rodriguez in the 4800 block of Panama Lane, according to police.
Rodriguez, 66, allegedly possessed 2.4 ounces of crystal methamphetamine, packaging materials, a scale, a pay-and-owe ledger and $192.88 in currency, officials said.

During a search of Rodriguez’s home, officers reportedly found and seized a shotgun.
According to BPD, the investigation began after the police department had received numerous calls over the past few months about several shopping centers on Panama Lane.
Callers reported people loitering in the parking lots, consuming narcotics or being under the influence of narcotics, trespassing, assaults, threats and property vandalisms. This led to the Impact Unit working to identify narcotics distributors who sell to loiters in the area, BPD said.
