Police on Thursday were investigating a reported stabbing at Castlemont High School in Oakland.
The incident was reported around 10:15 a.m. School officials said several people got into a fight in a back parking lot.
A victim, described by police as a juvenile, was taken to a hospital after being “injured by a bladed object.” The Oakland Unified School District said the victim’s injury was non-life threatening.
“We are working closely with their family to ensure they have what they need,” OUSD said in a statement. “Everyone who was impacted by this incident is being supported by school and district staff.”
Multiple juveniles were detained in connection with the incident, according to police.
No other information was immediately available.
