One person has died after a tour bus caught fire Friday morning on a freeway east of downtown Los Angeles.

The fire appeared to start at the rear of the bus, which pulled over on the side of the eastbound 60 Freeway in Hacienda Heights. It was not immediately clear how the fire started.

The California Highway Patrol said Los Angeles County firefighters arrived and confirmed one person had died at the scene. Details about the identity of the deceased individual were not immediately available.

Video showed people, possibly passengers, on the side of the freeway with their luggage.

At least two freeway lanes were closed.
