BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The Bakersfield Fire Department and Bakersfield Police department will be hosting memorial ceremonies in honor of the 25th anniversary of the September 11 terror attacks.
The community is invited to join first responders, families and local leaders to honor the lives lost during two public memorial ceremonies at the Bakersfield Fire Department Station on Buena Vista Road.
The first formal ceremony will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, September 11, with an opportunity to gather in remembrance of the nearly 3,000 lives lost in the attacks.
An evening ceremony will begin at 7:30 p.m. and will include a special roll call in partnership with the Portrait of a Warrior Gallert, memorializing the 27 local Kern County residents who were called to duty.
Parking and shuttle services will be available from the Park at River Walk for both ceremonies.
