One person was killed and another was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash along Elkhorn Boulevard in Sacramento County, officials said.
The crash happened at Elkhorn Boulevard and 20th Street in the Rio Linda area, the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District said.
Metro Fire said the person killed was pronounced dead at the scene, while the second person was taken to a hospital by ambulance.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. CBS News Sacramento has reached out to the CHP’s North Sacramento office for more information but has not immediately heard back.
Authorities have not released the identities of those involved.
