Members of the Del Sol Lions Club recently held their annual summer party to celebrate a milestone for the service club. The club’s bylaws specify that 100% of funds they raise from the community must go back to the community, and this summer they reached a total of $504,390 donated since the founding of the club 15 years ago, according to Del Sol Lions Club Treasurer John Page, a news release stated.
The Lions made recent donations to Casa de Amistad’s Casa Coders robotics team and books for the reading program; Solana Beach School District’s scholarships for students in summer enrichment classes and prizes for DiscoveryFest ‘26; the Community Resource Center’s food and nutrition center; MAEGA scholarships; Humble Design’s program to furnish homes for people transitioning out of homelessness into stable housing; St. Leo’s food program; Somos Tias; Meals on Wheels; and Feeding San Diego.
